Systems Software Development Engineer
AudienceScience, Inc. has an exciting opportunity for a Systems Software Development Engineer within the Development team. Software Development Engineers at AudienceScience are designing and implementing the infrastructure behind a massively scalable system that provides targeted advertising for some of the biggest names on the web. They come from the world's top computer science departments, like Stanford, UW, and Harvard, and leading technology companies like Microsoft, Amazon, and Expedia. Successful candidates will have:
- Bachelor's degree in CS or equivalent
- 5+ years of solid systems development experience using Java. C/C++ skills are also highly valued
- Experience in developing, testing and debugging distributed, multi-tiered systems
- Excellent object-oriented programming ability and an appreciation of well-tuned, high-performance engines
- Solid understanding of internet protocols, relational databases, data warehouses, memory management, multithreading
- Familiarity with Linux, J2EE, HTML, XML, and Spring MVC
- Drive to investigate new technologies and technical hurdles independently, and be able to clearly communicate your recommendations and solutions
- Inclination to work well with others in a dynamic and sometimes high-pressure environment
Qualifications:
This position requires a Bachelors degree in CS or equivalent work experience, 5+ years Java and serious development experience. Must have strong communication and organization skills, and be a self-starter.
The ideal candidate has experience with several of the following:
- Experience building online Advertising platforms and services
- Building systems to aggregate and process many-terabyte data sets. Experience with Hadoop/HDFS or similar
- Background in Data Mining, Data warehousing and/or Natural Language/Predictive algorithms
