Product Development Manager
AudienceScience, Inc. has an exciting opportunity for a Product Development Manager within the Product Development team. The Product Development Manager at AudienceScience manages the design and development of the company’s applications. The manager functions as a key interface between business, development, operations, and product marketing to advance the company’s objectives. They formulate actionable strategies to create a better product for its consumers.
Responsibilities:
The Product Development Manager is responsible for accomplishing the objectives and responsibilities outlined below:
- The position works closely with key business stakeholders to determine product needs and direction.
- He/she translates this information into a set of business requirements and product requests which are vetted and prioritized according to key success factors.
- The Product Manager will consider internal product development and/or external options to solve business needs.
- He/she is also responsible for communicating the progress and milestones of the product development cycle back to the business stakeholders.
- The Product Manager coordinates with the Program Manager to direct the product development process.
- The Product Manager must reconcile the priorities of business projects and requests with available development resources to determine the content of sprints.
- He/she generates comprehensive business requirement documentation to guide the development tasks, and is accountable for the solutions meeting the needs of the business.
Typical tasks include:
- Manage and maintain the product backlog
- Determine priorities of product requests
- Manage cross functional project teams utilized for major product initiatives
- Construct delivery plans for new product initiatives
- Help lead sprint planning, including creation of stories
- Communicate project status to business stakeholders
- Analyze deployed applications, keeping track of its maturity in the software development lifecycle, utilization, and fit in the product portfolio
Requirements/Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Information Systems, or equivalent
- 5+ years of full-time relevant experience
- Experience with distributed, multi-tiered systems
- Experience with generating requirements and designing web applications
Successful candidates will have:
- Knowledge of web analytics and online advertising
- Knowledge of HTML, Linux, Java, Internet protocols, relational databases, Hadoop
- Knowledge of Agile or Scrum
