Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)
AudienceScience is seeking talented SDETs to join our growing team. We’re looking for someone truly passionate about testing, automation and generally finding ways of breaking software. You will work closely with the development team, product managers and other SDETs to ensure the highest quality solutions for the AudienceScience platform.
Responsibilities:
- Create and organize test plans, test cases, and automation
- Design, implement and run automated tests as part of the development cycle
- Provide immediate feedback on feature design / functionality and acceptance tests to development and Product Management
- Provide ongoing risk assessment of issues to Product Management
- Ensure developers and Product Management are aware of test status and progress
- Maintain automated test tools and continuous integration systems
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in SDET / QA roles
- BS degree in Computer Science, Math, or related disciplines
- Experience testing within an Agile development process
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail. You must sweat the small stuff
- Strong ad-hoc testing skills, but have the ability to appropriately prioritize areas for consideration
- Strong understanding and experience testing in a Linux environment
- Knowledge of database fundamentals and SQL, like creating a table, deleting a table, and inserting, updating, deleting, and selecting records
- Drive to investigate new technologies and technical hurdles independently, and be able to clearly communicate your findings and/or solutions
- Strong aptitude for black and whitebox testing, with an emphasis on test automation where it makes sense
- Strong experience with UI/UX testing
The ideal candidate has experience with several of the following:
- Testing online Advertising platforms and services, a plus
- Testing systems to aggregate and process many-terabyte data sets. Experience testing Hadoop/HDFS or similar
- Background in Data Mining, Data warehousing and/or Natural Language/Predictive algorithms
